Information for Prospective Members
Associate Membership
Any one who owns a cat or is interested in cats is eligible for associate membership. The club encourages associate members to participate fully in all club activities.
Full Membership
Applications for full membership are accepted from people who live in the Manawatu - Horowhenua region or the areas bounded by Bulls/Marton, Taihape, Otaki and Dannevirke.
The Palmerston North Cat Club committee will consider applications from people outside of this area. Applications for full membership require a proposer and seconder, both of whom must be Full financial members of the Palmerston North Cat Club Inc.
For breeders and people requiring endorsement for a new NZ Cat Fancy Prefix to breed cats the following conditions apply:
1. They must maintain their cats and/or cattery at a standard acceptable under the rules established by the NZ Cat Fancy.
2. If the applicant is not already known by any FULL financial member of the PN Cat Club Inc, then she/he should be willing to accept a visit from at least two members of the PN Cat Club committee before membership will be approved by the committee.
3. The purposes of this visit are to establish a relationship between the club and the prospective member and to check that the breeding facilities and cats are being kept at the acceptable level.
The club encourages active participation from ALL its members in ALL activities such as shows, seminars and social events. The club also welcomes new members for its committee at its Annual General Meeting held in February.
