We had two beautiful and warm days in Palmerston North and so was the atmosphere of the show warm, friendly and happy.

A super organized show, for the show organizers everything seems to go very well and with a minimum of effort always with a big smile. Nothing was too much bother or trouble.

Thank you for booking a great Motel. The owners were fantastic and the rooms were beautiful clean and roomy.

On arrival on Friday there was an excellent home cooked meal in my room including a sweet. How nice is that? - on Sunday night I had a special meal delivery from club members and that was fab as well. Unbelievably great service. It was at that time I was thinking I should stay here this is all too good.

All I can say is thank you for a most wonderful time

We had the pleasure of judging around 100 Longhair exhibits and 80 Shorthair exhibits.

Wonderful quality of exhibits all around. In most of the sections it was extremely hard to sort out the Top Ten as there were so many extremely good exhibits.

In the SH section I was most impressed by my best entire kitten which was an incredible elegant Ebony Oriental. She had a jet black coat shining like a mirror, perfect head type with large flared ears and a totally straight profile and a long svelte well-muscled body.

The British were also of super quality. My best Entire Cat a British blue female with a very dense super coat, wonderful head type and with a well-balanced and compact body. The rest of the Top Ten were equally as good. I had a very impressive Havana Brown Oriental and a great Sphynx.

The SH Neuter/Spay cat section had a total of 14 very nice exhibits, again a super British, lovely Burmese and a sweet LH Japanese Bobtail

The best SH Neuter/Spay cat was a gorgeous friendly Burmilla with a lovely temperament super eye and coat colour. A very well balanced girl.

2nd best another stunner a Redpoint Siamese. Fabulous ear placement, straight profile and a fine, glossy close laying coat.

Not to forget the stunning Brown Spotted Tabby Bengal spay kitten. What a show stopper.

The Longhair section I found was extremely difficult to place, especially the Entire kitten section with 44 exhibits. Finally, I gave the best entire kitten to a Brown Tabby Exotic. This kitten was totally balanced with large round eyes and a very sweet expression, little ears a short cobby body. Would have loved to take it home.

2nd best was a 7 months old Bluepoint Birman kitten. Just a fabulous exhibit.

Further there where about 20 equally as good Persians, Exotics, Birmans and super Maine Coon kittens. It was difficult to award the Top Ten as so many that deserved to be in the Top Ten had to be left out.

The same in the Entire LH Cat and Neuter/Spay section. In the Cat section from 29 exhibits my best was a stunning young jet black Exotic male. Text book coat, totally balanced, super head type with large round copper eyes and small neat ears.

At the end of the show this exhibit received the Supreme in show award and it was a well-deserved award.

2nd Best LH Entire Cat an Orange Eyed White female with large round bold eyes giving a sweet expression to the face, beautifully groomed and with a snow white flowing coat. We also judged some very good quality Maine Coons, Birmans Ragdolls and my 5th best was a stunning Brown Tabby Norwegian Forest Cat.

In the LH Neuter/Spay section from 28 exhibits my best was an outstanding lilac Harlequin Persian Neuter. The white colouring was crisp white with lilac markings and great head type. A very attractive Boy.

2nd A well balanced 7 year old black Neuter with good eye shape, little ears, a lovely expression to the face and long black coat. In 3rd place a very nice Bluepoint Birman. The Birmans where fabulous and so were the Main Coon's from which I had 3 in my Top Ten.

Furthermore we judged 14 LH Neuter/Spay kittens all of a very good quality.

As well we had a large Domestic/Companion section of 26 exhibits. All gorgeous, sweet well groomed and in superb condition.

I could write pages and pages about the super cats we had the pleasure of judging all very well groomed and in good condition. I feel the quality of exhibits in this show is a great credit to the New Zealand cat fancy.

Kia ora
