2015 Show Judges: Lyall Payne (NZCF, New Zealand)
Animals, poultry, dogs and cats have been a major part of my life. I grew up in a reasonably large family but other than all being devoted animal lovers I think I’m alone in having had more than one household pet at any one time.
Another of my interests has been to study and write up the stories of my relatives. In doing so, I have learned that my great-grandfather was a poultry judge (nick-named No 1) and that on my mother’s side of the family, I found competitive prizewinning, King Country cattle breeders and a long-time breeder of English pointers.
It seems then that my penchant for judging and attempting to breed quality stock was a ‘time-bomb’ waiting to happen!
My feline passion is the Birman cat. I do not breed often (usually around two litters in a year). I believe that if you study your breed and your pedigrees you can produce what you want in a very short space of time.
I enjoy judging and very much look forward to seeing your beautiful cats on the show bench.

History Notes - 1956
Without wanting to unleash an avalanche of cat history items in dire condition, here's an example of something that just had to be saved because ... what if there was never another copy found? So, yes, save everything - but please store it safely, too.
