Christmas / End-of-Year Get-together
On Sunday 3rd December 2017 a large number of our members attended the club’s 2017 end-of-year get-together. It was a super chance to catch up with members old and new – especially in a social setting where there isn’t the hustle and bustle of a show going on.
I hope you will all consider coming along to the after-AGM event in February.

Annual General Meeting
The club AGM will be held on 18th February 2018 at 4pm at the Leisure Centre in Ferguson Street.
Our current President, Denise Grace, has indicated that she will not be standing again so we are in need of a volunteer for this position. As well as that the numbers on the committee drift downward during the year so that by the time we are handing out jobs for the show we are left with a few people to do a lot of work. Unless the club is able to field a large, committed committee to share the workload, some of the stalwarts are not prepared to continue running the show year after year. Please give this some thought as you decide whether or not to attend the AGM. (Even if not attending the AGM you can still put your name forward to serve on the committee by contacting the Secretary, Emma Kimberley.)
After the AGM please join us for a meal and social time afterwards at Moxies, on the corner of George and Main Streets.

Committee Meeting - 8th November 2017
2018 Show
- Travel for our ‘long haul’ judge is being arranged.
- Wayne Morris has agreed to be assistant Show Manager.
- Updated membership forms will be sent out to all members.
- Refund of the NZCF show package fee has been given as a credit against us using it at the upcoming show.
- The committee has a number of remits in mind for the upcoming NZCF AGM. If members are interested in the details they should contact the Club President, Denise Grace.

History Notes – 1971
Last Month
In response to the partial show report from the Nov/April 1970/71 Newsletter of the NZGCCF which appeared as the History Notes last month, Rob White responded with some information about ‘Mr Warren’. If you recall, Mr Warren was mentioned as having a redpoint Siamese whose challenge was withheld with the rather pithy comment: “This was a very heavy cat and showed no type at all.”
Rob advises that this was Ted Warren, a breeder of Siamese from Auckland who had some of the first redpoint Siamese that were established from the Chungford lines, the first of that colour in NZ.
