High Tea
by Kerry Holden

Well what a fantastic afternoon we all had at our fundraiser high tea. We would like to take the opportunity to thank our club patron, Yvonne Murphy, her husband Kevin and their son Scott, for opening their home and garden to be overtaken by your hardworking committee.

The food was delicious and the company delightful. The weather really turned it on for us and playing ladies and gentlemen for the afternoon was 'such fun'.

A lasting memory came from the "men's table" hearing one explain to their masculine counterparts, struggling with getting their fingers in the dainty cup handles, "You don't put your finger through, you just pinch it, like this."

It was a shame more of our Club members could not attend, but mark your diaries because it was such a great success that we hope to do it again next year.

History Notes – 1988

As I've mentioned before the 1980s is a very difficult decade to research for some reason but here, in all its yellow glory is the front cover of the 1988 show catalogue.  Do any of our current members remember this show?  I'd like to hear from anybody with recollections to share.
