Sunday 9th September, 6.30pm - Please Join Us

Part of being a club (and not just a membership list and a show committee) is that we get together and get to know each other.  Part of running a show is knowing about the local restaurants since we need venues for show dinners and taking the judges out before and after the show.  Currently we run get-togethers after the AGM in February, at the show dinner in May, and in December for our Christmas meal. The committee think we can add another couple of gatherings in by having a couple of Sunday afternoon committee meetings during the year and adding on a club function, in this case going out for a meal afterwards.

Therefore, club members are invited to join us at Brew Union Brewery (41 Broadway Ave, Palmerston North 4410) at 6.30pm on Sunday 9th September.  RSVPs are essential so that we can make a booking and should be sent to the secretary.  You are also welcome to attend the committee meeting which will be held at the Leisure Centre from 4pm.

RSVP:    Emma Kimberley    secretary@pncatclub.co.nz

Our Sponsors

Pro Plan have been the major sponsor of the Palmerston North Cat Club shows for a number of years and their continued support is much appreciated by the committee and club.

Ethical Agents is a New Zealand-owned, family run specialist veterinary marketing company that is sponsoring our show for another year and we thank them for their support.

Working Bee Update

Thank you to our dedicated committee members Christine, Amanda, Sheryl, Miria, Emma, Denise, Mush, and Jane (taking the photo) who turned out on 11th August for the working bee to assess and repair the club’s cages.  Sadly there was a miscommunication on Arena Manawatu’s part meaning that the large crates of cages had not been unstacked and moved to a place where we could work on them and so we reluctantly had to cancel the working bee.

With a space cleared on our diaries and being up early on a cold clear morning in the Manawatu it was decided that we should go off for breakfast somewhere warmer than the Waldegrave Street car park and accordingly we adjourned to Moxie’s in Cuba Street (photo: E Kimberley).

History Notes – 1952

Here’s more from the No 1 New Zealand Stud Book for Cats, a book which helpfully includes all the rules of the organisation at the time.  In this case here are parts of pages 8 (the bottom) and 9 (the top) which together cover how disputes and discipline were handled in 1952.
