End-of-Year Dinner

Thank you to the twenty club members and partners who managed to attend the end-of-year dinner at Cafe Eminem.  It was a great opportunity for people to meet and chat outside the show hall and we hope to have an even larger event in 2012 as discussed in committee news.

Committee News

The committee normally meets on the second Tuesday of each month.  Though the meetings can’t be regarded as being as the most thrilling of evenings out they are open to all club members and the committee welcomes anybody who would like to attend.

The minutes of the meetings can be obtained on request from the club secretary.  Suggestions, comments, or issues that members would like raised at committee meetings can be sent to the secretary or other committee members at any time.

General:
Internet banking is being made available to the treasurer.

The idea of a Palmerston North Cat Club end-of-show-season awards event to be held at the end of each year is being (re)developed.  Awards for members in their roles as exhibitors, breeders, and helpers are being discussed and this is one of the areas where the committee would particularly welcome any suggestions from members.

Letter drafted to the NZCF re the quality of award certificates.

Show Business:
The catalogue format will need changing because of the increased number of pages.

Show sponsorship should shortly be confirmed in writing.

Remits:
Work continues on the club remits for the NZCF AGM in April.

Next Meeting:
A discussion of possible changes to the club constitution was put off until the next meeting so that detailed information could be obtained. The issues are:
-- a review of quorum and committee numbers with respect to the reduction in overall membership; and
-- a change in the club’s financial year to fit better with the show ‘season’, with a subsequent change in timing of the AGM.

Again the committee would be pleased to hear from any member on this subject.

Next Meeting: 17 January 2012
-- Note: The 3rd Tuesday in the month this time.

Sponsoring Rosettes

At a very reasonable $79.35 sponsoring rosettes for the Palmerston North Cat Club’s All Breeds Show in May is a great way to support the club, promote your prefix, or advertise your business.  Perhaps mention it to your boss, discuss it with your business partner, or just get together with another club member to share the costs.  Contact the club secretary if sponsoring rosettes is something you would like to do.
