Annual General Meeting - Reminder

The club AGM will be held on Saturday, 16th February 2013 at 4.30pm at the Leisure Centre in Ferguson Street.  The committee looks forward to seeing you there.

After the meeting we will be heading off for a social gathering over dinner at the Rose & Crown in Terrace End.

The Committee Wants You!

The AGM is on Saturday (16th) and the club needs willing members to join the committee.

We aim to have monthly meetings but it’s not the end of the world if somebody can’t attend a few.  (Even the minutes-taker gets to go overseas and miss two meetings! )  The busy time is in the run up to the shows (Feb – May) but the more people we have onboard the fewer jobs each person has to take on.

If you would like to be on the Palmerston North Cat Club committee for the 2013/14 year you can volunteer by contacting the secretary or coming along to the AGM to volunteer in person.

Committee News

- General:
-- Our grant application to Eastern & Central (to help with the costs of a new laptop and printer) was turned down.
-- With a rush of new members we’re trying to improve out ‘new member’ procedures, including a welcome letter and getting the old club badges back into production (depending on costs).

- Show Business – March 2013:
-- Entries close on 15th February.  Working through last minute details.  A show meeting will be held on 4th March.

- Show Business – May 2013:
-- All judges but one domestic / companion judge are finalised.  Schedule is being prepared.

- Show Business – May 2014 (60th All Breeds Show):
-- Two of the six judges have been booked.  Another three are available.  One is yet to be approached.
-- Two day show, three rings each day.
-- Usual location but with the addition of the Bell Hall which is on the end of the Barber Hall.
-- A long list of possible sponsors was suggested for further investigation.

15 / 16 / 17 March

Obvious we’re not asking the same people to turn out for all three sessions, especially as many of us will be working at the show or wanting to get our cats out of their cages and away home, but it would help enormously if we knew how many people (and who) will be there to help with the ‘show chores’ each day.

Set Up [Friday 15th]: We need helpers from 2pm at the Feilding Civic Centre.

Cage and Hall Cleaning [Saturday 16th]: On Saturday after the Burmese show closes we will need helpers to clean cages and the hall (if required) and set up for Sunday.

Pack Up [Sunday 17th]: And on Sunday after the Palmerston North show closes we will need helpers to pack up and clean up.

If you can help, please let Mush know which lot of show chores you will be joining us for.
