Fund-raising / Helpers Required

We now have five upcoming barbecue fund-raisers:
  • November: Saturday 23rd – Mitre 10
  • December: Saturday 14th – Mitre 10
  • January: Saturday 18th – Mad Butcher
  • February:  Saturday 1st and Saturday 15th – Mad Butcher

All offers of help would be gratefully received - even if it is only providing some sliced, partly cooked onions - but manpower on any of those days would be most welcome.

Please contact Margaret if you are able to help with these events.

Committee Meeting – 8th October 2013

Margaret Morgan, who we all know does a huge amount for the club (as secretary, seeking sponsorship which has raised thousands of dollars, organising fund-raising, and doing almost anything else that needs organising), has advised that she will not be available for re-election as secretary at the 2014 AGM but will see the club through to the 2014 show.  We would like to thank Margaret for all the hard work she has done (and is still doing) for the Palmerston North Cat Club.

Despite the change to daylight saving before the next meeting the committee will continue to meet at 7pm.

The damaged cages have been assessed and a working bee will probably be undertaken during the Christmas holidays.

- 2014 / 60th All Breeds Show:
-- We are still waiting on Pro Plan for a decision about sponsorship of the show.
-- The treasurer proposed the entry fees for the 2014 show and this was accepted unanimously.  The fees are:
--- Rings 1 – 5 @ $12 per ring = $60.00
--- Ring 6 @ $6 per ring = $6.00
--- Benching Fees (1st exhibit)  = $24.00
--- 1st Exhibit = $90.00
--- 2nd and subsequent entries = $66.00 each

- Fund-raising:
-- We have three additional dates for sausage sizzles outside the Mad Butcher (advised elsewhere in the newsletter).
--  We discussed the possibility of having a stall at the Rongotea market day on Waitangi Day but with a fee of $40 per stall and not being allowed to sell food, except for cakes, preserves etc (i.e., we couldn't have a sausage sizzle), we didn't feel it was worth it - especially given the number of commitments we already have in January and February.
-- Cat sleep sacks beautifully made by Judy James are now available on Trade Me at a cost of $20.

- Next Meeting: Tuesday, 12 November 2013
-- Time:    7.00pm
-- Location: Meeting Room, McDonalds, Princess Street

Fabric for Sleep Sacks

If anyone has spare pieces of material that might be suitable for the fund-raising cat sleep sacks that Judy James is making please let one of the committee know.

Almost any type of material is fine for the outside but polar fleece or faux fur type fabrics are great for the inside and for the trim.

Amazon.com

Have you bought anything from Amazon.com through the advertising link on the club’s webpage?

If you have, then thank you!  The club has had its first payment from Amazon ... hardly enough to break out the champagne but we’re not complaining. :o)

If you haven’t used the link and are purchasing books from Amazon, please do consider going to the site via the club’s link that can be found on this page.
