The 'Public' Catalogue
We will be producing a catalogue for members of the public to buy which will include only basic details on the cats (breed, colour, name) plus a list of local breeders with the contact details of their choice (phone, email, or website).
Club members' details will not be included in this catalogue unless they let us know they wish them to be.
Please contact the show secretary if you want to be included in the local breeders listing of the public catalogue.

Show Results
Please let us know your show results. We're always proud of how the cats of Palmerston North Cat Club members are doing throughout the show season.
- 15th March: Burmese Cat Club of NZ (Central Region)
At this shorthair / companion / domestics show Robandi Amazing Grace, an ebony Oriental owned by Rob and Colleen White but raised by and living with Denise Grace, was awarded 4 x Best-in-Show and Supreme Pedigree Cat in Show. It was her first show at 5-and-a-half months old.
- 5th April: Dominion Shorthair Cat Club
At this all breeds show Robandi Amazing Grace (owned as above) was awarded 3 x Best-in-Show, a 3rd placing, and Supreme Shorthair Cat in Show.
Norwegian Forest Cat, Jaymlynkatz Oberon aged 7 months and attending his first ever show was awarded 2 x Best-in-Show, a 4th and a 6th placing, and Supreme Longhair Cat in Show.
What makes this particularly interesting is that these two kittens were raised by the same mother cat when Amazing Grace's mother tragically died soon after she and her littermates were born. Oberon's mother fostered Amazing Grace and her littermates with him and his two sisters.

Reminder: Show Set-Up: 2nd May
Because the show is a 2-day show we'll be setting up on a Friday. While we appreciate that this is a work day for many people but if you aren't working that day or have taken the day off to prepare cats could we please have some help to set up the hall from 9am on Friday 2nd May.
Please let Show Manager Paul Holden know if you are available to help with the show set-up.

Reminder: Donations for the Door Raffle
We will be holding a door raffle each day of the show and while we have pet beds to provide the 'base' of the raffle we would appreciate donations to fill the beds and make the prizes even more attractive to the public.
Please contact any committee member if you have something to donate.

Committee Meeting – 8th April 2014
Again the meeting was focused almost entirely on the up-coming show. Among the exceptions were the passing of accounts to be paid (notably the insurance of our show 'pack up') and the club's vote on the remits for the upcoming NZCF AGM.
- 2014 / 60th All Breeds Show:
• Show jobs were discussed again and the arrangements for hosting the judges (meals, transport to and from the airport, etc).
• Advertising, posters, signs, and hand outs for the public on good show hall behaviour.
• Disposition of the high-value prizes.
Next Meeting: Tuesday, 22nd April 2014 (Show Meeting)
- Time: 7.00pm
- Location: Meeting Room, McDonalds, Rangitikei Street

Reminder: 2015 Cats Calendar
I have had a number of responses about the cat calendar but would like more from the club's breeders and exhibitors before I speak to people further afield. We will be aiming to get the calendar in print and for sale before the end of June so please contact me before the end of May if you're interested in sponsoring a page in the 2015 calendar.

History Notes
I'm still working on a history booklet that people can look through at the May show but have realised now that this is a project that will be on-going for some time. (Forever ...?) Let's just say the 'first draft' will be ready for our show weekend and that it should give us a structure to which we can add information as it comes to light.
If you do hear of anything that might be of interest to me with my 'club history' hat on please don't hesitate to get in touch.
- Cats Monthly
Way, way back in the 1950s there was a New Zealand-based cat magazine published in Palmerston North by Dulcie Hore (later Peck) of Roy Street.
Do any of our club members have copies of this magazine, or know of anybody who might? I'm willing to follow up any lead so please get in touch if you can help in any way.
- NZCF Magazines from the 1980s
Not so far back, this time! Does anybody have NZCF publications from the 1980s? Or (again) know of anybody who does?
Contact: Jane Webster, talmijane@gmail.com
- 1953
The very attractive (but grubby) front cover of the show catalogue of the first Palmerston North Cat Club show and the back cover ad for the Nunbourne cattery.
