Committee Meeting – 13th October 2015
by Kerry Holden

- 2016 National Show
Our schedule is in the final stages of being sorted, it will be out before Christmas, which is exciting. It will give everyone time to plan so let your family and friends know, we want this to be the biggest and best National in a long time! Anything you can do to help out will help us achieve that goal.

-- Fundraising
A sub-committee was formed to specifically look at opportunities for fundraising. Rosalie, Emma, and Judy will explore ways to increase our funds in the build-up to the show. If you have any ideas please don’t hesitate to get in touch; all ideas will be considered.

In addition to the fundraising committee, Lorraine will explore any relevant grants that may be available to the club. Do you know of any that we could apply for, have you had experience applying for grants? Lorraine would love to hear from you.

The committee decided to run a raffle drawn in plenty of time for Christmas. Tickets are $5 each, books of 5 will be available, with a limit of 300 tickets. First prize is $300, second prize is $150 and third $50. Who doesn’t need a bit of cash for that busy time of year? Tickets available from the committee.

The chocolate fundraiser has been a rousing success, yum! We still have chocolate available if you would like to purchase some.

-- Sponsorship
We have had our first rosette sponsor come on board! Yay! We really value our rosette sponsors, they make a huge difference to putting on a great show for our exhibitors. If you would like to sponsor a top 10 of rosettes, or Breeders Awards of Merit etc there are packages available to suit different budgets, and individuals, businesses, families and groups are most welcome! Please contact Emma Kimberley if you are keen to know more.

- General Business
Casi Renner resigned from the committee. This was accepted with regret. Thank you Casi for your contribution to the committee

-- Handlers and Stewards Course
For a number of reasons this has had to be postponed until February 2016. We had a wonderful response so we look forward to hosting it next year.

Next Meeting: Tuesday 10th November 2015
Time: 7.30pm
Location: Rumour Has It Cafe, 305 Rangitikei St, Palmerston North
