Annual General Meeting Report

We had an exceptionally well attended AGM – 16 members and 3 junior members.  Thank you to those who joined us.

Apart from the election of officers (covered under a separate heading later in the newsletter) the only decisions of note were the following subscription-related items:
-- Single (full and associate) from $12 to $15
-- Double (full and associate) from $20 to $25
-- The junior ($5) and family ($25) memberships were left unchanged to encourage junior membership.
-- A ‘triple’ membership (reflecting the three-party NZCF prefix-holder arrangement) was introduced and set at $35.

After the AGM those who had the time adjourned to the Rose & Crown to sit in the evening sun (enjoying a few drinks) before heading inside for a meal.

All-in-all a much more pleasant event than having to turn out to a mid-winter AGM that struggles to meet its quorum!

Combined Show

Thank you to everybody who helped with our combined show with the Burmese Cat Club of New Zealand (Central Region).  It was a new venue for the event and it proved a pleasant environment for cats and people.  Though the entries were lower than we might have wanted it was a great show for those who did attend.

Committee News

- General:
After the report from the combined show it has become clear that the club’s need for a new laptop and a printer has become urgent.  It was decided to purchase these immediately.  A decision about the software required to run either our usual show paperwork package or the NZCF one will be made once other sources of show paperwork have been investigated.

- Show Business – March 2013:
A show debrief meeting was held and an interim financial report showed a profit for both clubs from this event.  Although the NZCF show paperwork package managed ‘on the day’ it was not as easy to use as we had hoped.

- Show Business – May 2013:
The committee went through all of the jobs, large and small, and started to put names to tasks.

- Show Business – May 2014 (60th All Breeds Show):
The committee will approach the EC again about their decision not to approve our first-weekend-in-May show date.  Everything else is on hold while we wait for this to be resolved.

- Resignation
Christine Yeung resigned from the committee and her role as president.  On behalf of the club the committee wishes to thank Christine for the significant amount of work she has done over the years.

- Next Meeting: Tuesday, 9 April 2013
-- Time: 7.30pm
-- Location: Leisure Centre, Ferguson Street, P Nth
